Project E30
In June 2021, I bought a 1986 BMW 325e to fix up with my dad. We spent a full year restoring the car for me to daily drive in time for summer 2022. We focused on repairing as many original parts as possible, and 3D printed various plastic components to replace ones that had broken. The car has served me well for the past 2 summers with no major issues.

Work on the car includes:
- Rebuilt original brakes, bent and routed new brake lines
- Replaced front and back suspension components
- Rebuilt window motors and windshield wiper motor
- Restored sun damaged plastic trim pieces using body filler
- Repaired cracked plastic trim by plastic welding
- Removed rust and patched holes using fiberglass and body filler
- Repainted sunroof panel, hood, and trunk
- Replaced all hoses, fuel lines, belts, seals, and fluids
- Added fuel pressure gauge and inline fuel filter
- Replaced fuel pump
- Adjusted engine timing, resealed fuel injectors, replaced spark plugs
- Cleaned and refreshed interior
- Replaced interior lights with LEDs
- Installed aftermarket radio, antenna, and dashcam
- Replaced broken odometer gears
- Replaced rusted exhaust
- Resprayed rock guard underneath car
- Oil spray
Future plans:
